RSFC Interview with backing singer Kimmi Johnson-Breaux

RSFC: Kimmi you have just finished your first tour with Rod how have you found it?

The tour has been AMAZING!! I am having the time of my life!!!

RSFC: You had Stevie Nicks with you on the tour what was she like?

She is the most sweetest woman I’ve ever met! It was an honor to be on stage with her!

RSFC: How did you get the job with Rod was there an audition?

Well, Chuck Kentis called me and asked me to come and audition and I sang a few songs with Di Reed and Bridget Cady, and that went very well...Then they sent it over to Rod and they offered me the gig!

RSFC: Do you ever get nervous before a show?

No, I’ve been touring for many years so that part has wore off! LOL! If anything I get very excited!!!!

RSFC: Apart from Rod can you tell the RSFC members what other artists you have worked with?

The Isley Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire, Robin Thicke, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Leona Lewis, Toni Braxton, Sting, Christina Augulara....there are more artist but those are the ones i can remember off the top of my head... God has truly blessed me to work with such great artists!

RSFC: How do you find Rod’s audiences compared to other artists you have worked with do they go for it or do you find the more reserved?

I LOVE the audience!! WOW WOW WOW! Nothing I’ve ever seen! They GO FOR IT!!

RSFC: What’s your favourite place/venue to perform?

You know I would have said Prince Albert Hall, but now with Rod I’m touring in places I’ve never been to It’s changing!!

RSFC: Do you play any instruments?

I played the flute in Junior High! LOL

RSFC: Whilst you were growing up did you have any idols & do you still listen to them today?

Like every kid Michael Jackson! and yes I still listen to him!!!

RSFC: Have you done any solo work & do you have any plans in the future to work on your own stuff?

I have done some solo work, but I have 2 older sisters who I sing with and we are having a great time writing and recording songs, not really working on a "Project" we’re just letting the creative juices flow and wherever God takes it we will follow!

RSFC: What would you say is the highlight in your career so far?


RSFC: What do you like to do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies?

Spending time with my husband, my dog Ruby, my family. Yes I love to Gardening!! I love my garden!! it’s very exciting to plant something and watch it grow!!

RSFC: What is your favourite Rod song in the live set?

That’s a hard one! HOT LEGS! I love to watch him kick the soccer balls!!

RSFC: Do you have a personal favourite Rod song of all time?

I actually have 2 Forever Young, and Have I Told You Lately

RSFC: You girls look like your having so much fun up there on stage who decides the choreography & the outfits you wear?

Well Nicole Khuns takes care of the outfits and this tour we were able to wear something we picked out on our own, so that was cool! I’m not sure who came up with the moves, Brigdet and Di just taught them to me, so hey I guess you can say Bridget and Di came up with the moves LOL!

RSFC: Where can the members of the Rod Stewart Fan Club (RSFC) keep up to date with Kimmi Johnson-Breaux do you have a website?

I don’t have a website.......but I am on Facebook :))

RSFC: I have to ask you this one as the RSFC have asked J’anna & Paul the same question & it’s….. Marmite do you love it or hate it?

RSFC: Can you tell us what does the future hold for Kimmi Johnson-Breaux?

Who’s knows??? LOL! Only God knows what the future holds for me! As long as I have my health, Family, Friends I am thankful for each day God allows me to get on stage and perform!
